When children belong, they thrive

Chalk Nursery Group is home to Katey’s House, Red Bus and Moon River: nine nurseries across South West London and Bristol.

What we believe about children

Every child deserves to feel that they belong. When children feel known, safe and welcome, they are free to be themselves. That is when they are ready to learn and to thrive.

Each of our nurseries has its own character and community. What they share is this belief, and one standard of care, safeguarding and support for the people who work in them.

Tell us the small things

Keeping children safe comes first in every Chalk nursery. We want anyone to feel able to raise a concern, however small, and to know it will be heard and acted on. Our early educators are trained to notice, to record and to speak up.

Working at Chalk

Exceptional early years care comes from teams who feel known and trusted. We invest in our colleagues’ wellbeing and development, and we help people grow in their own direction rather than up a ladder we’ve drawn for them. Our values describe how we treat our team as much as how we look after the children.

Who runs Chalk

Every one of us is here for the same reason: people. Working with them, knowing them, enjoying them. When we bought our first nursery, we named the group around it, and we’ve kept it that way since.

We also understand what we’re responsible for. Children spend their days with us, and their families trust us with them. We don’t take that lightly, and we don’t let it become routine.
