Job Role & Responsibilities

As part of the Katey’s House team, you’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager to support the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery and create a safe, happy and nurturing environment where every child can learn, play and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Nursery Manager to support the daily running and administration of the nursery.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures, including requirements relating to the Children Act, Health & Safety, Ofsted and relevant national standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Promote the EYFS and work collaboratively with the team to provide a happy, nurturing and stimulating environment for all children.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with families to support children’s learning and development both inside and outside the nursery.
  • Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Provide high-quality teaching by following the curriculum, using lesson plans effectively and assessing children’s progress and development.
  • Complete appropriate assessments and be available to meet with parents to discuss their child’s development and progress.
  • Ensure children are appropriately supervised at all times.
  • Interact positively with children, providing guidance, support and care throughout the nursery day.
  • Welcome children and their parents or carers when they arrive at the nursery.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support children in developing positive social skills.
  • Support children with nappy changing and toileting needs while following appropriate hygiene and handwashing procedures.
  • Represent Katey’s House professionally at all times.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and relevant training to continue developing your knowledge of early years education.
  • Participate in Katey’s Housel community events when required.
  • Keep classrooms and learning areas clean, tidy and organised.
  • Ensure classrooms are appropriately set up at the beginning of the day and safely closed down at the end of the day.
