Early years funding at Katey’s House
Our team is here to make claiming your funded childcare simple and clear, so you can understand your options and choose what works for your family.
Making childcare more affordable
Understanding early years funding can feel like a lot to take in, but you’re not working it out on your own. Our team is here to guide you through it: working out your eligibility, helping you apply, claiming your hours, and understanding what your costs will look like.

How we offer funding at Katey’s House
Stretched funding
Government funding is based on 38 weeks of term time. At Katey’s House, we stretch it over 51 weeks, so your monthly bill stays consistent with no spikes in cost during school holidays.
Flexible sessions
We offer funded hours within our regular session structure, so it’s easier to fit childcare around your week. Whether you use 15 or 30 hours, we’ll work with you to spread them in a way that suits your family.
A simple application
We use Funding Loop to make applying for and confirming your funded hours simple, from your first enquiry through to your child’s first funded session.

Can my family claim funded childcare?
Now that you know how funding works at Katey’s House, here’s what your family could be entitled to. Your child becomes eligible from the start of the term after they turn 9 months old.
Working families If you meet the criteria below, you can claim up to 30 hours a week. That’s 1,140 hours a year, which we stretch across 51 weeks so your monthly bill stays consistent rather than spiking during term time. You may be eligible if:
- You (and your partner, if you have one) each earn at least £167 a week
- You’re on maternity, paternity or adoption leave
- You’re unable to work due to a disability or caring responsibilities
- You (and your partner, if you have one) do not individually earn £100,000 or more a year
All families Every 3 and 4 year old living in England is entitled to 15 hours of funded childcare a week, regardless of income, benefit status or family circumstances. So if you don’t qualify for the 30 hours above, you’ll still get the 15.
